# Resetting Your HWID

How to reset your Hardware ID (HWID) from your dashboard, and the limits that apply.

Your Hardware ID (HWID) ties your account to your machine, which helps prevent unauthorized account sharing. If you've changed hardware or need to move to a new machine, you can reset it from your dashboard.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**HWID resets are limited to once every 7 days per account.** This limit discourages account sharing and protects the integrity of our service. Make sure you're on the right machine before you reset.
{% endhint %}
