# Subscription & Billing Terms

How Akira subscriptions work — renewal, expiry, transfers, price changes, and how billing ties into the refund and chargeback rules.

## Renewal

Akira subscriptions **do not auto-renew.** Each subscription runs for the fixed term you bought and then ends. You are never charged automatically — to keep using a product after your term ends, you buy a new subscription. Because nothing recurs, there's no recurring charge to cancel.

## Expiry

When your term ends, **access to the product is revoked immediately.** There is no grace period. Reactivating means purchasing again. Your account itself stays — only the product access tied to the expired subscription ends.

## Transfers

Subscriptions and license keys are **non-transferable.** Once a key is activated or a subscription is tied to your account, it can't be moved, sold, or shared with another user. This matches the access-rights terms in the [Terms of Service](/policies/tos-term-of-service.md).

## Price changes

Prices can change over time. Any change applies to **new purchases and renewals** — it never retroactively charges an active subscription, since subscriptions don't auto-renew. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout.

## Currency

You're charged in the currency shown at checkout for your chosen payment method. Exchange-rate differences, card fees, or crypto network fees charged by your provider are outside our control.

## Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks

Billing is tied to our refund rules. In short:

* Refund requests follow the [Refund Policy](/policies/refund-policy.md) — within 24 hours of purchase, with a valid reason.
* **Opening a dispute or chargeback on an active subscription terminates it immediately and permanently**, even if the dispute later fails.
* Cryptocurrency payments are non-refundable.
