# Account Termination & Appeals

A single place that explains what gets an account terminated, what happens when it does, and how to appeal. The binding rules live in the [Terms of Service](/policies/tos-term-of-service.md) — this page summarizes and links them; it doesn't replace them.

## What can get you terminated

The full list of grounds is in the [Terms of Service](/policies/tos-term-of-service.md#grounds-for-termination). The most common reasons are:

* Creating multiple accounts to abuse our services or get around our policies.
* Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users or our staff.
* Sharing your account, credentials, or anything downloaded from our sites with third parties.
* Reverse engineering, decompiling, or tampering with our software.
* Assisting in anti-cheat or screen-share development.
* Opening a dispute or chargeback on an active subscription (see the [Refund Policy](/policies/refund-policy.md)).

For the complete and authoritative wording, including the conduct rules, read the [Terms of Service](/policies/tos-term-of-service.md) and the [Acceptable Use Policy](/policies/acceptable-use-policy.md).

## Permanent vs. temporary

We may suspend an account temporarily while we investigate, or terminate it permanently for a confirmed violation. Serious violations — and repeat offenses — lead to permanent termination.

## What happens to your data and subscriptions

* Termination can include deletion of content and data tied to the account.
* Subscriptions and beta access tied to a terminated account are lost and aren't restored.
* Data handling on termination follows our [Privacy Policy](/policies/privacy-policy.md), including the retention rules for information we're required to keep.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Banned accounts can't be deactivated or removed on request, and their subscriptions can't be restored.** Termination of your account is not grounds for a refund.
{% endhint %}

## How to appeal

If you believe you were banned by mistake or unfairly, you can appeal. There's **no fixed deadline** — you can submit an appeal at any time — but appealing sooner, with clear information, gives us the best chance to help.

{% step %}

### Open a ticket on Discord

Open a ticket in our [Discord server](https://akiraghost.com/discord) and tell us you're appealing a ban.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Provide your details

Include your Akira userID and a clear explanation of why you believe the ban is undeserved or a false positive.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

We can't guarantee a ban will be lifted, but we review every appeal and will do our best to help. Full appeal details are in the [Account Suspension](/faq/general-questions/user-account/account-suspension.md) FAQ.
